Foster Care Awareness Doesn’t End in May—It Begins with You

May 19, 2025

As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, the stories we’ve heard and the faces we’ve seen remain heavy on our hearts. In West Texas, hundreds of children still enter foster care each year—some with nothing but the clothes on their backs. But where hardship and heartache exist, so does hope. That hope is found in the unwavering community that surrounds The Attic Resource Center.

The Attic is more than a clothing closet or supply hub. It’s a cornerstone of child welfare and foster care support in our region. Every duffle bag, every pack of diapers, every school uniform, and every encouraging word given from The Attic tells a child, a foster parent, and a struggling family: you are not alone.

Throughout May, we’ve spotlighted the needs, the families, and the heroes in foster care. But awareness alone doesn’t change lives—action does. And that’s where you come in.

The Attic runs entirely on generosity. With no government funding, we depend on donors like you to keep our shelves stocked, our volunteers equipped, and our doors open. Your monthly or one-time gift ensures that when CPS calls, when a placement happens in the middle of the night, or when a family simply can’t make ends meet, The Attic can respond with immediate, tangible help.

Would you consider becoming part of this vital mission? Give to The Attic Resource Center today and be the steady support children and families can count on.

Because foster care doesn’t just need awareness—it needs action. And it starts with you.

Give today and help us carry hope into tomorrow.
